Andrew Lewin launched Project 1000 on 10th October 2019 (World Mental Health Day), a consultancy company that specialises in workplace resilience and wellbeing.
Andrew explains, “I am at a stage of my life when I am able to make some lifestyle choices that will have a positive impact on my own wellbeing and the wellbeing of others. I have taken the decision to work as a consultant and have set up my own company, Project 1000, that allows me to manage my work/life balance. Inspired by the 'Power of Three', I am looking to make decisions and set personal goals based around FAMILY, FRIENDS and ME.”
Very aware of the impact that a poor work/life balance can have on personal wellbeing, Andrew is qualified by experience. In 2013, he suffered with depression and took a long hard look at himself. Through Project 1000, he is now putting his own experiences and his subsequent training into practice to support others, both individuals and businesses, to try to get the balance right!
Andrew adds, “When I became ill there was still a real stigma surrounding mental health. With nothing visible on the surface, it is easy to try and hide the struggles that you are facing, but these can rapidly build up and become overwhelming. It is not a sign of weakness to admit that you need support and, once I had plucked up the courage to do something about the way I was feeling, everything became much clearer and my recovery began. I realised the fight that I had been having, mainly with myself, and I started to get better. Through Project 1000, I hope to help people to become more self-aware and encourage individuals and businesses to value wellbeing more highly, finding practical ways to support themselves and those around them.”
